DELIVERY DRIVER

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Primary Function and Scope: Drives truck over established route to deliver products and collect payment from customers.

Duties & Responsibilities / Position Role:

  • Drive a van/truck to deliver Paperback beer to customers’ places of business.
  • May deliver sales promotion materials or draught equipment to customers.
  • Collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer invoice.
  • Record sales or delivery information on daily delivery record. 
  • Listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Place stock in area designated by customer, making sure that stock is properly rotated for freshness and draught beer is stored in a refrigerated area.
  • Collect or pick up empty containers, pallets or rejected merchandise.
  • Load and unload truck as necessary
  • Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  • Clean inside of truck.
  • Verify truck is loaded accurately, including “Add-Ons,” before leaving with

invoices/stops for the day.

  • Check out truck and inventory (fulls, empties, breakage, Cold Plates, pallets,

etc.) with supervision upon return to warehouse. Put this inventory in the appropriate place in warehouse as necessary.

  • Indicate expected arrival time at any supermarket stops that are regularly merchandised on the appropriate log.
  • Inspect vehicle, record findings, top-off any fluids (including air as needed) before leaving each morning.
  • Bring signed invoices, cash, and checks to cashier to be “cashed out.”
  • Follow all Paperback Brewing’s policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and listen effectively with customers and employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Position Summary

Paperback Brewing is looking for a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for great beer. We seek a candidate who can grow with us by demonstrating a high capacity to learn and independently take on new challenges. The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting sales, the Paperback brand, and achieving target distribution and volume goals within an assigned territory.

Job Responsibilities

· Develop key customers within the assigned territory and nurture the supplier/retailer relationship to grow sales and distribution

· Maintain and grow current account relationships within the assigned territory

· Create and Schedule events within your account base to help grow both the brand and sales

· Schedule and participate in promotions, tastings, and special events that may occur on weekday evenings as well as weekends

· Elicit feedback from the market on what things could help move the brand further toward its goals

· Conduct ongoing brand training with retailers and consumers 

· Perform all ongoing and assigned administrative tasks efficiently, timely, and completely (SRM, expense reports, monthly work calendar, etc.)

· Assist at all special events and festivals in the territory

 

Job Qualifications

· Live in the market for which the Sales Representative is responsible

· Self-starter/Self-motivated

· Must be able to represent Paperback Brewing in a professional and responsible manner 

· Minimum 2 years of sales experience in outside sales within the beer industry

· A minimum 2-year college degree is required; a 4-year college degree is preferred

· Availability to work evenings/nights as needed 

· Strong knowledge of craft beer, the industry, and its retail customers

· Position requires computer proficiency – regular use of Microsoft Office (including the ability to enter, retrieve, and interpret data in spreadsheets), Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive

· Excellent oral, analytical, written, and communication skills

· Reliable car and a valid driver’s license

Paperback Brewing Sales Representative (San Diego County)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Craft Beer Sales Representative to join our team and expand the presence of Paperback Brewing's craft beer portfolio within San Diego County. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the craft beer industry, a strong sales background, and excellent communication skills. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key accounts, distributors, and customers to drive sales growth and brand recognition.

Responsibilities:

Sales and Account Management:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets for the assigned territory within San Diego County.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with existing accounts, including bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and other retail outlets.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities by prospecting and engaging potential customers.
  • Collaborate with distributors to ensure accurate order placement, delivery scheduling, and inventory management.

Product Knowledge and Education:

  • Possess a deep knowledge of our craft beer portfolio, including flavor profiles, brewing processes, and brand stories.
  • Conduct product tastings and presentations for customers, educating them on the unique qualities of our beers.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences to tailor sales pitches effectively.

Brand Promotion:

  • Represent the company at industry events, festivals, and trade shows to promote our craft beers and enhance brand visibility.
  • Execute marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Maintain a positive and professional brand image at all times while interacting with customers and partners.

Sales Reporting and Analysis:

  • Utilize CRM software to track sales activities, account interactions, and customer feedback.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and updates for management, highlighting sales performance, trends, and areas for improvement.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers at accounts and distributor partners.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of successful sales experience in the craft beer industry or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of San Diego County's craft beer market, including key players and trends.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
